About Aston Patterning®
-
Developed by Judith Aston, this sophisticated form of somatic education and bodywork recognizes that your body is naturally asymmetrical. Rather than trying to force your structure into a rigid, textbook mold, Aston Patterning respects your unique history and design.
-
Each session is tailored to your unique body & history of injury and surgery to help improve alignment, function, reduce discomfort, and promote ease of movement. We will review your goals for your body, assess posture and movement, and I will use a gentle spiral touch to release long-held fascial tension.
We may use guided sensorimotor explorations to discover a more efficient movement pattern.
You’ll want to wear light-weight body hugging clothing or shorts and a tank top for ease in assessments and for moving onto and off the table throughout the session.
At the end of most sessions, you’ll have a subtle movement that when practiced can change an unhelpful pattern into easeful motion and help you keep the bodywork changes from the session.
-
Active people who have pushed their body, had a few injuries or surgery and are now experiencing chronic aches, pains, and limitations to their movement, but feel they are too young to feel the way they do or be sidelined from the activities they enjoy.
OR, people who have been more sedentary and want to begin to move more, but when they do, they experience a concerning pain or restriction that is preventing them from fully engaging in the activity they want to.
This work is also ideal for sensitive nervous systems or those with a history of trauma.
What Clients are saying…
“Incredible technique. Incredible practitioner. Highly motivated and in tune with several modalities, Tamra has rearranged my body miraculously leaving me pain-free. I’ve already sent two of my friends gift certificates to begin their healing journey and I’m going to purchase another 3 session package for myself.” —K.G.
“Tamra is amazing! If you work at a computer or other posture challenging work, you will be so glad you saw Tamra. My first visit, she was able to convince my neck to work properly again. Something my chiropractor and normal deep tissue massage had not been able to do. Highly recommend.” —Debbie
“Tamra is wonderful. She is very intelligent and passionate about her profession. She takes the time to teach me how to sit, stand, walk, run, and move finding my neutral posture to prevent pain and injury. The bodywork she does has never hurt or been uncomfortable and is immediately effective. I look forward to more visits.” —Jen
